Hype DC’s favourite singer/stylophonist is on the Parklife circuit and to celebrate, we have 5 copies of her debut album Hands to give away. Hailing from the UK, Little Boots (a.k.a Victoria Hesketh) started out as a contestant on Pop Idol before embarking on a diverse career which included stints singing in a jazz band as well as her own outfit, electro band Dead Disco.
Heralded as “a well crafted, glorious pop record”, Hands contains the hit songs Meddle and New In Town.

To win a signed copy of the album – email your name, contact number and address and “what your ideal little boots would look like” to adam@hypedc.com

It’s that simple. Need more motivation? Watch the video below.

So far, they have only been sold in such exclusive stores as Colette in Paris, but we’re pumped to tell you that from this week, we’ll be stocking them exclusively, right here at HYPE DC.

Nike Gladiator Mids are available in either black and white, or white and gold. Hurry in and get yours quick. Or we’ll throw you to the lions…

Quan from Regurgitator is back as a uber-mental, super glitchy hip-hop solo act. If that makes sense to you, hopefully, so will this video. Co-directed by himself and Hong Kong animator Michelle Lau, it features more references than there is space to list them. Enjoy.

The best thing about the festival season (apart from the festivals themselves) are the intimate sideshows that pop up around town. It’s like Australia suddenly gets transported to Europe or America where great quality gigs with amazing international acts happen all the time.
One such act is UK duo La Roux. We compare her to a weird but brilliant combination of The Eurhythmics and Massive Attack. Both a style icon and intelligent performer, front woman Elly Jackson is like the anti-Gaga. See La Roux on the Parklife circuit, at sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney, or here in the great video for I’m Not Your Toy.
