Legendary comic book publisher DC turns 75 next year which is certainly justification enough for these sweet collaborations with Converse. Featuring some of the most iconic design elements ever created, they’re the perfect way to pay your respects to your childhood heroes. We dig the laid back, retro feel, especially the faded stars of the Wonder Woman design. But don’t expect to get your hands on them anytime soon. These babies won’t be out until mid 2011.
See how far you can get into this video of skater Dylan Rieder before you realise you’ve wasted your youth. (We got to about 00:45).
You probably know Danny’s face from his work in films by Quentin Tarantino and Roger Rodriguez. He’s usually the menacing guy behind the bar who’s expression could sink ships. Well, Danny’s debut as a leading man is coming out soon in Machete, the story of a Mexican American dolling out rough justice with a selection of 12 inch hacking blades. Should be something. But there’s a lighter side to the man too, as displayed by this short film about his love for lowriders. Amazing stuff.
How many pictures have you taken in your entire life. 60,000? Doubtful, even if you were fifty, which non-coincidentally, is how old the original Olympus PEN camera is, and the reason they shot such an incredible number of photographs. Each picture was painstakingly composed and developed to make this impressive animation. It depicts a pleasant life, from birth to the big five-o. And while it seems like a pretty direct copy of PIG & WOLF which we posted months ago, it’s very, very nice. Feast your eyes.
