It’s funny when you see a documentary from ages ago where all the kids look like what kids are trying to look like today. This one’s called Streetwise, and it’s a film about Seattle kids in the mid-80s. It basically depicts the birth of grunge culture. Watching it makes us feel nostalgic for all kinds of things, but mostly for film cameras. How good does everything look?
Sticking with the musical theme of their recent activity, Reebok Classics is looking back at some of the best records of the past two decades in a new series of video interviews. In this one, Lauryn Hill talks us through the making of her 90s hit “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” aka, every girl at my high school’s favourite CD.
As we gradually pull ourselves out of winter and into spring, spare a thought for those in the northern hemisphere who are going the other way. All those months of misery ahead of them. All those months of bitter cold. You really can’t help feel a bit sorry for them can you? That is, until you see this video. There’s a guy we know who’s dad designs huge machines to do things like wrap 500 chocolates in one minute or clean and can sardines. Really intricate tasks that require thousands of parts working perfectly in synch with each other. This watch makes us think of that. With no screen and no hands, the Tread 1 Belt Watch by Devon, utilises a number of printed bands that keep track of the time. Pretty insane right? This is the kind of genius that makes our heads hurt.
