This Friday we’re in love with bulldogs that snowboard. It’s weird how the Winter Olympics comes along and none us cares at all, but put a pooch on a tiny snowboard and we can’t get enough. Memo to the IOC. More bulldogs. And while you’re at it, less curling.
A girl plays futsal with the boys. A sweet song and a great clip with lots of indoor soccer action, from cool Argentine band Entre Rios. Plenty of choice retro gear too. There’s something great about foreign language music isn’t there? You can tune out and just feel it without pesky lyrics getting in the way. Anyway, this makes us dreamy, hungry for travel, and most of all, excited for the world cup.
Well, it was NBA dunk comp time again the other day and we can’t help but feel a little let down. Never mind that New York’s Nate Robinson claimed the first ever dunk comp 3-peat with his victory over Toronto’s Demaar Derozan, or that he had to blast his 1.75 meter body about a hundred and fifty centimeters in to the air to reach the basket; this years exhibition somehow lacked the lustre of previous events. Maybe it was the lack of stunts, or perhaps the absence of a true NBA superstar (WTF Lebron?) Anyway, congrats to Nate and all you Knicks fans, who could do with something to cheer about. The rest of you, judge for yourself.
Miami Heat baller Dwayne Wade made headlines late last year when Michael Jordan named him as the first player to be endorsed by NIKE’s Jordan Brand. Now, D-Wade is a legitimate superstar, an NBA champion who’s flashy, and plays the same position as His Airness, but the 6′5″ guard is currently just scraping into the top tier of elite players behind LeBron and Kobe. One example in point is the fact that his team has no chance to win the title this year. Still, this is a pretty amazing honour, up there with Muhammad Ali crowning you as the new Greatest. It’s definitely deserving of a slicker than guts TV ad. Check it out.
