The Nike ZOOM Talaria was a running experiment from the penmanship of the storied Swoosh designer, Tinker Hatfield. Coined after the winged sandals of the Greek god Hermes, The Talaria progressed the evolution of ZOOM Air that has debuted a few years earlier. Equipped with the affordances of propulsion in the forefoot and cushioning in the heel, the tensile air pods that debuted on the Air Zoom Alpha & Spiridon would be compacted into a contoured EVA midsole - one of the signature elements of the Talaria. With a gradient backed outsole and familiar Waffle tread, the Talaria was complete with Volt felt and sandwich mesh uppers. Fast Forward almost 20 years later and the Talaria makes a comeback rigged with modern material innovations.

The Nike ZOOM Talaria Flyknit is notable for its rigged out execution. Adopting Nike's spirit of sneakerboot revisionism, a knitted, sock-like collar extends the sleek silhouette. Bonded synthetic suede and Flyknit underlays are coated in Nike's 'Defender' System Durable Water Repellant (DWR). There's also metal D-Ring lacing and a leather backed heel wrap with debossed branding. The sculpted midsole gets embellished on the underside, with the bottom-loaded, three-quarter-length Zoom Air unit fixed to winterized treads on the heel and exposed Waffle flex grooves in the forefoot. An experiment once upon a time, the Talaria is now an urban warrior, primed to guide you through whatever elements you're faced with.

The Men's ZOOM Talaria Flyknit is priced at $299.95 AUD | Size: Men's US 7-13
