Invented by Nathan Clark in 1949 after being stationed in Burma with the British Army, this was the solution to a comfortable boot that could handle the harsh desert. The formula is simple: a light, flexible but durable suede upper cemented on top of a plantation rubber crepe sole. 70 years on, the concept remains unchanged because it simply works. Adapted and adored by artists, mods and everyone between, this is the first dress casual shoe.
