As Nick Hornby wrote in his book High Fidelity, it’s not what you’re like, it’s what you like that counts. It seems that this is equally true in death than it is in life. According to the UK Bereavement Register, the top funeral song for the last quarter of 2008 was none other than James Blunt’s Goodbye My Lover. The list also included Angels by Robbie Williams and The Police classic Every Breath You Take (poor taste perhaps? – Ed).

Come on people. We’re talking about the ultimate musical full stop for the end of your freaking life. James Blunt? Robbie Williams? Man, I can’t wait for some cool people to start dying so we can finally go to funerals without wanting to kill ourselves.
