A little known fact is a lot of the scariest, funniest, most beautiful movies you’ve ever seen are remakes of foreign language films. And a lot of the time, that language is Espanol. Well, that shouldn’t really be a surprise as it’s the second most spoken tongue in the world (behind Mandarin Chinese, and ahead of English). Add to that the countless incredible Spanish speaking artists and directors, including Alejandro González Iñárritu and Roger Rodriguez, and you’d better believe that the Sydney Latino Film Festival will be totally worth your time.
Highlights at this year’s event include the hit Argentinean comedy Un Novio Para Mi Mujer as well as shorts and Q&A sessions. For the full schedule and details, visit the website.
Oh, and yes, some of the films could be in Portuguesa, which is no slouch either, as far as languages are concerned.
