In 2003, legendary LA graffiti artists Tony “Temp” Quan was diagnosed with the degenerative disease ALS. Within a few years he was completely paralyzed, left with only the limited movement of his eyes . His situation inspired film maker Nick Ebeling to develop a system that would allow Temp to communicate with his family and ultimately make art again. Working with the guys at GLR Graffiti Lab they came up with a device that allowed him to use his eyes to control a laser, and eventually start working again. They filmed the whole process and the result is Getting Up. Guaranteed to make you feel unbelievably lazy, pathetic and optimistic all at once.
