What is perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of the ZX 8000 by adidas Originals, in this point of time, is the fact that the model is over 25 years old. Many of the trefoil's other classic designs, like the adidas Superstar, Stan Smith and other terrace classics of the day, embody a timeless character well documented throughout the years. Comparatively, The ZX 8000 is a less assuming model that could have been shunned in its original iteration (draped in a bright turquoise from sole to upper with hi-vis yellow accents) yet turned immortal more than likely due to its technical brilliance of the day coupled with a fetching, if not overwhelming, unique colour palette.

Today, with 25 years of storied existence - shared mostly among European adidas fans - under it's belt, adidas Originals maintains the legacy and the vibe. It's a strictly 1988 affair of technical fabrications and highlights. However, gone is the bright turquoise (although we maintain it's a timeless winner) and in its stead, a toned down contrast of blues, navy and the complimenting red and white. The sole unit is uncompromised. The Torsion Support system, integral to the ZX series, is resplendent here in all its SoftCell and Torsion bar glory. Designed to maintain stability and flexibility while allowing a high capacity for movement, the Torsion Support System is as fabled as the upper it supports.

A nostalgic double up of epic adidas proportions, these exclusive colourways to Hype DC of the ZX 8000 are matched with a suede upper, vintage ribbed nylon vamp and ribbon trefoil label on the tongue. With classic ZX tooling on the heel with a bonded heel cage of plastic and mesh, both models are finished off with a classic Torsion lace jewel.
