Vans Anaheim Factory Collection

Vans opened for business in 1966 with a small location in Anaheim, California. Originally named The Van Doren Rubber Company, the brand started selling simple, made-to-order canvas shoes direct to the public from a storefront at their 120-square meter factory. These initial footsteps laid the foundations for Vans today.

The Anaheim Factory collection is a premium assortment that pays tribute to the brand’s humble origins. The offering calls upon original styling cues from late 1960s and early 1970s designs and introduces them to modern tooling for an updated range of Vans classics.

Each Anaheim silhouette is named after the style numbers used to signify the original design moulds. A higher profile and slight sheen can be seen on the “marshmallow” sidewall that mimics the early stages of the vulcanized process that Vans classics are synonymous with. Heavyweight 10-ounce canvas was first implemented to withstand serious abuse that skateboarders put Vans shoes through – not to miss a single detail, the same weight of canvas is utilised in this latest assortment. The most distinguishing design element to tell the Anaheim collection apart is a vintage blue and white Vans tab, while Ultracush technology is embedded into the footbed and collar for improved comfort and support.

The first series of Anaheim Factory styles at Hype DC includes two Era 95 DX and Sk8-Hi 38 DX in vintage colourways. Stay tuned for more historic styles yet to return from the 50+ year archive of Vans.
