With a silhouette that is over 90 years old, you would think that all avenues of updates, additions, material applications and remixes had been exhausted by now. To assume this however would be to misjudge the longevity and lineage of THE 20th century sneaker. Under the tutelage, fiscally and industrially, of parent company Nike Inc, Converse has been able to re-assert it's legacy and appeal to all walks of life. They've reigned in their identity and have, with bonus Beaverton design assets, explored new avenues for the Chuck Taylor All-Star to waltz down.

The Woven edition can be traced back to Nike's innovation kitchen and it's exploration of material knit and weave uppers replacing traditional leathers and mesh. The same ballistic nylon weave on these draws directly from the Nike Free Inneva (which is hitting Hype DC shelves soon). Of course, without completely sacrificing old school looks for new age charm, Converse have affixed vintage features in the way of distressed alabaster leather on the medial logo patch and signature toe-caps. A call-out to its providence, the Converse All-Star Woven edition ultimately has it's sights on combining the old and the new, with a little help from its friends.

The Converse All Star Woven, Low & High, are now available online and from select Hype DC stores.
