Hype DC will be partnering with Nike for the whole of March to celebrate the greatness of Nike Air Max, leading to the finale of Air Max Day on the 26th March 2017. Marking 30 years since the original release of the Air Max 1, the month of Air Max will witness the return of the original Air Max 1 and it's coveted colourways alongside some big surprises!

NIKE AIR MAX 90 ULTRA FLYKNIT

Nike Air Max 90 Ultra Flyknit (Online and In Store Now)


The Air Max 90 is easily recognized, especially in its vibrant signature Infrared colourway. In the Air Max 90 Flyknit, two new innovations make this Air Max legend lighter: a Flyknit upper for an ultralightweight feel and a cored-out Ultra midsole that decreases weight and increases comfort.

Nike Air Max 1 Anniversary

Nike Air Max 1 Anniversary (SOLD OUT)


It's the shoe that started the revolution, breaking new ground in comfort, innovation and sales records. Released in 1987, the Tinker Hatfield design broke convention by revealing the Air bag through the midsole, starting a trend that continues to this day. The original red, white and grey or blue white and grey colourways have proven to be the most coveted and the 2017 release is looking to be the closest to the original yet, with perfectly matched materials and a re-shaped toe box.





Nike Air Max 1 Master

Drawing inspiration from its most coveted of predecessors, the Air Max 1 ‘Master’ features a symphony of materials curated from a roster of grailed Air Max 1 iterations, including but not limited to, references to the Patta ‘Chlorophyll', Parra 'Amsterdam', Atmos ‘Animals' and Nike's own iconic 'Safari' print, infused into one Monarch of Max.

The finale to Air Max Day 2016 was the "Vote Back" contest where Nike fans were able to vote for the Air Max model they would most like to see re-released. With some heavyweight collaborations to choose from including releases from Patta, CLOT and Kid Robot, in the end it was no surprise that Japanese retailer Atmos came out on top. The "Elephant" Air Max 1 from 2007 was chosen by the public to be re-released as part of the 2017 Air Max Month celebrations and will be making a very welcome return to Hype DC this month.






Nike Air Max LD Zero

The Air Max LD-Zero made it’s debut as Hiroshi Fujiwara’s contribution to the HTM release on Air Max Day 2016, taking styling from a heritage running silhouette and comfort from modern technologies. The result, a celebration of Air Max that represents Fragment Design’s minimal aesthetic and a nod to Nike’s past and present technology.





Nike Air VaporMax

Nike Air VaporMax (Release Date: Coming Soon)


One of the most anticipated releases in recent years, the VaporMax is being marketed as the “rebirth of Air”. Constructed of a one-piece Flyknit woven upper and secured to a radically redesigned Air cushioning system that goes without a foam midsole, the launch of VaporMax will usher in the next instalment of Air Max history.
