Nike Sportswear have again collaborated with infamous haberdashery, Liberty London and delved into their rich and deep material archives. They've drawn a somewhat contemporary piece from the fold, the Merlin Print, which first featured on a Liberty silk scarf in 1972. The print witnesses geometric shapes and symbols amongst circles and volumus shapes ebbing and flowing in concert with each other. Clung to colourful hues and golds, the celebratory print and its loud absurdity, overlay the latest women's Nike Sportswear collection. Across seasonal greats such as the Air Rift, Air Max Thea and Cortez, Liberty London also dress up the Tennis Ultra, and debut 2 new silhouettes, the Air Max 90 Ultra and Juvenate. Clean white uppers and black accent detailing enables the Merlin print to shine out. Capturing the subtle nuances amongst the colourful collage is key to this collection and Nike have certainly given Liberty's Merlin print an exhibition.
